A domain name is a combination of words enabling the access to a website. The purpose of a domain name is to easily remember and communicate the address of a set of servers. A domain name consists of a "label" and an "extension" or "Top-Level-Domain" (TLD) or "suffix".
Example: registry.leclerc: "registry" is the label, "Leclerc" corresponds to the extension

This is the entity (association, society, especially ...) registering a domain name. It is the "owner" for the period of registration.
For the extension .Leclerc, the registry (ACDLec) is the unique authorized registrant of the domain names.
Members of the Leclerc Movement can request the use of a domain name directly at ACDLec. -
This is the entity (association, company...) in charge of the management of the domain names database of a TLD.
Examples: ACDLec is the registry of .Leclerc; AFNIC is the registry of .FR

The « Trademark Clearinghouse » is a worldwide database that centralizes data of the registered trademarks. This is a brand protection mechanism recorded in the new Internet extension program.
The registration of a trademark within the "TMCH" has two main interests:
- Get the opportunity to register in priority a trademark as a domain name in the new Internet extensions (stage called "sunrise period")
- Receive an alert notification for a period of 90 days in case of registration of your trademark by a third party in one of the new extensions

Members and affiliates of the Leclerc Movement may request the delegation of the use of a domain name in .Leclerc. As indicated in the naming policy, ACDLec will always be the owner of the domain names in .Leclerc, but their use may be delegated to the applicant.
To make your request, please complete the contact form with the requested domain name. A response will be provided as soon as possible.

The registration and use of domain names in .Leclerc must respect the .Leclerc Registration Policy. The use of domain names must respect the values of the Leclerc Movement and must be for legitimate purposes.
